Songs From Life
A Devotional Introduction to the Psalms
"…Even David, in the 10th Psalm, cries out and says, 'God, why do
You hide from me? Where have You gone? What have I done that has
caused You to hide from me?"
"Whether you are young or old, I can assure you that there will be a
'time in between' in your life, a time in between promise and
fulfillment, a time in between revelation and its accomplishment, a
time of waiting, gutting it out, learning and testing, the very
crucible in the nature of your spiritual experience.
"You will either find dependency upon God or bitterness of spirit.
David says to us, "In my time in between, which might have been
filled with cursing and bitterness, saying, 'Where are You, God?' I
instead grew in spiritual stature. I experienced holiness by means
of repentance, and found that underneath me were the everlasting
arms. I came to rest in God so that nothing the enemy throws at me
now will cause me to turn back. I have gone through the worst, and I
have discovered God in my life more deeply and meaningfully.' "
